Searching for quasars in AllWISE data

In the era of big data driven astronomy creating trustable catalogs of astronomical objects plays crucial role in observational cosmology. In particular, quasar catalogs still cause many difficulties for the observers and new machine learning techniques gain popularity to overcome problems which occur in the case of traditional classification. Searching for quasars is especially efficient in the infrared passbands, what makes WISE satellite an ideal tool for quasar catalog preparation. In my talk I will briefly review quasar physics and role they are playing in modern cosmology and discuss old and new methods of quasar selection in infrared catalogs.
