TEAM/TEAM-TECH/TEAM-TECH Core Facility call for proposals

The Foundation for Polish Science has announced the TEAM, TEAM-TECH, and TEAM-TECH Core Facility call for proposals to be financed from the EU Smart Growth Operational Programme. Combined budget is 42 million PLN. Deadline for applications in all calls is January 16, 2017 at 4 pm local time.

The TEAM offer is directed to outstanding scientists with a record of some globally recognized scientific achievements, working in international teams. R&D projects potentially capable to solve some globally significant problems and/or to undertake some essential challenges for modern societies are eligible for financing only. Project subject should be compatible with the National Smart Specialisations programme scope. Project outcomes should impact the socio-economic development of the nation. Some foreign project partner is compulsory.

The TEAM-TECH programme is open for R&D projects to develop a technology, a product, or a process of a significant importance for national economy. The TEAM-TECH Core Facility programme is open for projects to bring to the market some research services based on some existing R&D infrastructure. In both cases the proposed solutions should draw on an earlier acquired original knowledge, as well as be compatible with the National Smart Specialisations programme scope. The successful applicant must have an outstanding record in research or implementation activities. Research institutions may apply only jointly with business partners.

Each of the TEAM, TEAM-TECH and TEAM-TECH Core Facility programmes offers grants up to 3.5 million PLN for 3 years (with a possibility to extend grant accomplishment period up to 5 years). Grant means may be used to cover costs of various categories including remunerations, stipends, training courses/internships, subcontracted/outsourced R&D tasks etc.

Each applicant must hold at least PhD degree. However, R&D teams led by them may employ students, PhD students, young PhDs.

Projects may be accomplished in research institutions, enterprises, or by some science-industry consortia; the latter variant is not available in the Core Facility module. Both companies with a R&D team and companies wishing to establish such a team may apply. Regulations allow companies to receive public assistance in an amount of up to 80% of the cost of their R&D projects.

Applications may be submitted only on line (no paperwork).

Next call for proposals is scheduled for April 2017.
