Abstract:

Studies of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) are today one of the most important pillars of observational cosmology. They provide information on the initial conditions of the Universe and scales comparable to the horizon of the observable Universe. This gives a unique opportunity to test the standard cosmological model at very early epoch of the Universe evolution. Since the COBE and WMAP data releases, considerable effort has been spent on analyzing properties of the CMB anisotropy maps. Recently released, the state-of-the art observations performed by the Planck satellite have allowed to significantly improve  constraints on the standard model. I will present the Planck experiment and cosmological results published in 2015 and 2016.
