The National Center for Nuclear Research opens a competition for the position of Professor of the Institute at the Division of Plasma and Ion Technologies FM2 Department of Materials Physics based in Otwock/Świerk.

Scientific discipilne: Materials Engineering

Apart from the habilitation degree, the candidate is expected to have documented knowledge in the field of testing the properties of solids (chemistry, physics or materials engineering) and experience in studies of structural and functional properties of materials.

In particular, the candidate is expected to demonstrate:

  • experience in the practical development of experimental techniques (plasma techniques, ion beam techniques, magnetron techniques, structural analysis (TEM, XRD, Raman), analysis of functional properties);
  • proven practical and theoretical knowledge of pulsed plasma techniques including high-temperature pulsed plasma generating systems of the Plasma-Focus and Rod Plasma Injector type;
  • scientific achievements in the field of materials engineering, chemistry or physics confirmed by publications;
  • experience in working in an international environment;
  • good, documented and practical knowledge of experimental techniques used for the modification and synthesis of materials as well as measurements of structural and functional properties of materials, with particular emphasis on plasma and ion beam techniques;
  • ability to work in a team, readiness to participate in works carried out in international institutions;
  • good command of the spoken and written English language;
