Postdoc position in observational cosmology

National Centre for Nuclear Research is seeking candidates for a postdoc position in observational cosmology in Astrophysics Division, Department of Fundamental Research. The position is offered for two years with a possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue research in galaxy evolution and/or statistical studies of the large scale structure of the Universe. Therefore, previous experience in these topics is desirable; however, candidates with background in other related fields are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be embedded in our young and active team specializing in studies of galaxy properties and evolution, large scale structure and application of machine learning techniques to large astronomical datasets, and participating in a number of international projects including VIPERS and LSST.

Requirements

  • Ph. D. in astrophysics,
  • documented research experience (publications, conference talks, etc.) in observational cosmology or related field
  • good ability to communicate in English
