The National Centre for Nuclear Research seeks to appoint for the position of a research-technician specialist (part-time) at Division of Nuclear Energy and Environmental Analysis of the Department of Complex Systems.

Short description of tasks:

The job is related to the activities of the Reactor Analyses Section within Division of Nuclear Energy and Environmental Studies. It requires application of advanced computing technics to analyses of the severe accidents with the use of the MELCOR code and equivalent codes. The work in investigations of the source term, fission products in terms of steams and aerosols propagation. Also, the tasks related to the application of the reactor analyses to the design of the nuclear reactors and in particular to a high temperature reactor are planned.  

Requirements:

  • minimum 3 years of experience in the field of NCBJ research activity;
  • documented scientific activity (journal publications, conferences, study visits) in the field of severe accidents, reactor analyses of sensitivity and uncertainty; 
  • high skill in MELCOR and other codes to study severe accidents;
  • documented familiarity with high temperature reactor (HTGR) technology; 
  • analytical skills; 
  • capabilities in self-directed or team work;
  • advanced English skills in speaking and writing; 
  • Ph.D. degree in technical sciences is appreciated.
