NCBJ opens a competition to fill up a vacancy at a position of Assistant Professor in NCBJ Complex System Department located in Świerk. The successful candidate must meet requirements specified in par. 43 of Act on Research Institutes passed on April 30, 2010 (Dz.U.  96 pos. 618).

Requirements:

• PhD in chemistry or physics
• Scientific interests/qualifications in applications of /IT techniques/mathematical methods, in particular:

• “first principle” calculations of physical/chemical properties of molecules/multi-atom complexes containing various atoms, including heavy ones
• familiarity with various formalisms/approximations used in molecular calculations (e.g. semi-classical approximation, , non-relativistic theory etc.)
• orientation in applications of molecules/complexes containing radioactive atoms
• practical knowledge of UNIX-based IT systems and script languages
• proficiency in using high-level programming tools and good orientation in software dedicated for molecular calculations
• familiarity with modern high-performance computers

• Documented scientific output (publications in international journals and/or conference presentations)
• Experience in accomplishing R&D projects/international scientific collaboration
• Readiness to initiate/undertake new projects, also as project leader
• Good communication/knowledge transfer skills
• Good command of English language.
