The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens a competition for the position of post-doc  at the Laboratory of Dosimetric Measurements based in Otwock / Świerk.

The candidate is expected to have documented knowledge in the field of environmental samples (soil, rocks, air, suspended particulates, water, bottom sediments) and technological (sewage and sewage sludge, coals, ashes and other technological samples), with particular emphasis on nuclear spectrometry methods (alpha, beta and gamma spectrometry), in addition atomic absorption and emission spectrometry (ASA and AES) and chemical instrumental analysis (XRD, HPLC, GC / MS, IC).
Knowledge and experience in the field of safety and radiological protection will be an advantage due to work in conditions of occupational exposure to ionizing radiation.

In particular, the candidate is expected to:

  • doctor's degree in the field of technical or related sciences;
  • knowledge of the Atomic Law and principles of radiological protection;
  • experience in the collection and preparation of samples for radiological examinations;
  • experience in the field of alpha, beta and gamma radiation spectrometry;
  • experiments in the field of instrumental analysis, especially FT-IR, XRD, HPLC, GC / MS, AAS, AES;
  • experience in the validation of analytical methods;
  • good health - required to obtain permission to work in conditions of exposure to the category A radiation;
  • team work skills, readiness to participate in work carried out in international institutions;
  • good knowledge of English in speech and writing, with particular emphasis on the technical language (language certificate is welcome).
