The National Centre for Nuclear Research seeks to appoint for the position of post-doc at Division of Nuclear Energy and Environmental Analysis of the Department of Complex Systems.

Work location: Świerk (Otwock)

Short description of tasks:

The job is related to the long-term activities of the Centre of Excellence MANHAZ (Management of Health and Environmental Hazards) – currently Centre of Hazard Analysis. It requires application of advanced computing technics to: environmental analyses, statistical methods in risk analyses of nuclear and industrial installations and reliability theory. In particular it needs making use of Baeysian technics. It will be necessary to get used to computational methods for computing clusters. It requires knowledge of statistical data processing methods and programing skills.

Requirements:

  • PhD in computer science, mathematics, physics or technology;
  • Documented scientific activity in:  computer science, applied mathematics or technical physics in particular with applications in at least two of the following fields: statistical methods especially Bayesian statistics, modelling of transport and dispersion of contaminant in environment, numerical methods, technical
  • informatics, reliability theory;
  • analytical skills;
  • capabilities in self-directed or team work;
  • programing skills (unix/linux, script languages, C/C++);
  • good command of English.
