Abstract:

Subjective lecturer's opinions on the current status and perspectives for the Polish Nuclear Power Programme (PPEJ) will be presented. Political, social, economic, industrial, and R&D aspects will be discussed.

PPEJ was initiated in January 2009, the first nuclear power plant was to be put in operation in 2020. Unfortunately in 2016 we still cannot be sure whether the plant will be ready before 2030. Some objective reasons of that situation will be identified, perspectives of R&D projects and industrial applications in the nuclear sector in Poland will be outlined. Potential pathways along which the PPEJ programme might be continued will be discussed in the context of recent advancements of nuclear technologies and other results of nuclear R&D all over the world.

NCBJ bus leaves to Świerk at 10.25 am from entrance gate to the Hoża 69 premises in Warsaw.
