III International Radiopharmaceutical Conference. RADIOFARMING IN INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH
2019.08.26 16:03 - adminThe 3 rd International Radiopharmaceutical Conference is an event for specialists in the field of nuclear medicine: doctors, radiopharmacists and medical physicists interested in developing their skills and expanding their knowledge in an international gathering. During three conference sessions, 10 invited scientists will give presentations, including 4 guests from abroad. Prof. Katherine Gagnon from Sweden will talk about the production of 68Ga and 99Tc cyclotrons; Prof. Raisa Krasikova from Russia will deal with the nucleophilic synthesis of 18F-labeled aromatic amino acids by Cu-mediated fluorination; Prof. Alfred Morgenstern will focus on the treatment of prostate cancer with radiopharmaceuticals; while Prof. Dr Hans J. Wester will talk about new solutions in positron emission tomography (PSMA). Lecture topics also include isotope-labeled peptides and new metals in radiopharmaceuticals.
One of the Friday panels will end with a discussion with the participation of the National Consultant for Nuclear Medicine, as well as representatives of the National Center for Nuclear Research and the Chief Pharmaceutical Inspectorate, on the perspectives for radiopharmaceutical development in Poland in the light of various solutions in EU countries.
The program will also include a separate panel directed to nuclear medicine technologists and nurses with lectures on radioisotope and imaging diagnostics as well as tools for graphic data presentation and quantitative assessment.
About 100-150 people will participate in the conference: radiopharmacists, technologists and doctors – among others, representatives of hospitals, colleges, scientific centers and oncology institutes from all over the country. On Friday evening there will be an Integration Evening, where discussions initiated during the conference sessions can be continued in an informal atmosphere.
The principle organizers of the event are the Nuclear Medicine Department of the Oncology Center in Bydgoszcz, the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine, the National Center for Nuclear Research in Świerk, and the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Drug Analysis and Radiopharmacy – Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the Medical University of Łódź. Interservis Sp. z o. o. is responsible for the organization of logistics for the event.
