Investigation on the luminescent properties of scintillation materials.
The topic is a continuation of research performed at Scintillator and Phosphor Materials Spectroscopy Group at the Institute of Physics, NCU in Toruń:
• spectroscopy with ultraviolet and visible light excitation,
• radioluminescence measurements with ionizing radiation excitation,
• thermally stimulated glow curve measurement and their decomposition for investigation of trapping sites,
• double beam probing of materials using an infrared laser and ionizing radiation.
The scope of the research covers the energy transfer processes in scintillators. Additionally, this results in the expansion of TJ3 division’s competences in the field of testing the optical properties of scintillating materials. The actions involved in this research also are aimed at the procurement of necessary laboratory equipment.
