Atom for Academia – contests for students
2015.04.15 12:25 - adminPGE EJ 1, the company responsible for development of the first nuclear power plant in Poland, initiated last year the “Atom for Academia” programme to promote nuclear power topics among Polish academic community. Individual students of technology, social sciences, natural sciences and medicine, as well as student self-governing bodies/scientific groups are invited to run in contests organized within framework of this year second edition of the programme. NCBJ is a partner in that project.
Multi-disciplinary contest for individual students
Individual students may run in eight contest categories: sociology, social communication, political sciences, economy, tourism/local authority development programmes, law, medicine and radiobiology. Three best solutions of a nuclear power-related issue will be distinguished in each category by the contest jury composed of some academic lecturers and some practitioners. Study tours to some operated nuclear power plants will be granted to the winners, other distinguished runners will be honoured with some attractive cash prizes. Applications must be submitted before May 31, 2015. Contest rules, application form, and list of contest tasks may be found here.
Contest for student self-governing bodies/scientific groups
To design a campaign promoting nuclear power and the “Atom for Academia” programme among students will be the contest task for student self-governing bodies/scientific groups. Contest runners must work out strategy, timetable, and cost estimate of the campaign. The submitted works will be evaluated from the following points of view: creativity; feasibility; cost-effectiveness; planned communication channels/tools; coverage. Three highest prize winners will receive grants helping to finance their organizations. The winning campaign will be financed in the next year edition of the “Atom for Academia” contest. Contest rules, application form, and sample brief to be used as guidelines for campaign strategy may be found here. Works must be submitted before May 31, 2015.
