8th edition of Int’l School on Nuclear Power
2015.10.13 14:18 - admin8th edition of Int’l School on Nuclear Power (October 26-30, 2015) is targeted at teachers/students, public administration officials, local government employees, civil servicemen, Polish nuclear power plant investor staff, companies/universities/research institutes involved in the programme to develop the first nuclear power plant in Poland, as well as at all other persons interested in the subject.
Topics of this year School edition involve:
- renaissance of nuclear power
- health impact of small doses of ionising radiation
- radioactive waste management
- nuclear medicine
- implementation of nuclear power: the UK case study.
Most of the lectures will be given in English, however, English-Polish simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
An introductory session with lectures and workshop on principles of ionising radiation and radiation protection held in NCBJ will be this year novelty in the School’s agenda.
The so-far collected experience suggested us also to add some training sessions to the School’s main activity form, i.e. to lectures. The sessions will be held next to the workshops as usually held in Świerk (NCBJ and ZUOP Radioactive Waste Management Enterprise) and in Różan (KSOP National Radioactive Waste Repository). This year sessions topics will include: (i) selection and evaluation of sites for nuclear power plants; (ii) disposal and storage of low- and medium-activity radioactive waste.
School’s Organizing Committee invites all interested to fill up registration form available at the www. szkola-ej.pl Webpage. Lower fees are offered for groups.
