The National Centre for Nuclear Research opens the competition for the position of Professor of the Institute in Theoretical Physics Division (BP2) based in Warsaw.

Location: National Centre for Nuclear Research, Pasteura 7, 02-093 Warsaw

Scientific discipline: physics

In addition to the habilitation degree, the candidate is expected to have documented expertise in elementary particle physics.

Description of tasks:

Within the structures of the Theoretical Physics Division the candidate will conduct research in the field of elementary particle physics, with particular emphasis on physics beyond the Standard Model. Ultimately the candidate is expected to build, within the structures of the Department, her/his own research group dedicated to the above-mentioned topics.

The candidate is expected to have:

  • significant scientific expertise, documented by publications, on the field of elementary particle physics, in particular on theories and signatures of physics beyond the Standard Model;
  • excellent and documented expertise on dark matter models and experimental searches;
  • very good and documented expertise on beyond-the-Standard Model signatures in flavor observables;
  • very good and documented expertise on the statistical analysis of large data sets and multidimensional parameter space;
  • experience in international collaborations;
  • experience in obtaining research grants in open competitions;
  • experience in leading research projects, confirmed by the running of grants as principal investigator;
  • excellent spoken and written English skills, knowledge of other languages is desirable;
