Scientific discipline: physics or astronomy
In addition to the habilitation degree or professor scientific title, the candidate is expected to have a documented expertize in astrophysics and observational cosmology research.
Description of tasks:
The candidate will be employed in a group dealing with extra-galactic astrophysics and observational astronomy. The team participates in a number of major sky surveys, including VIPERS, HELP, LSST. They specialise, among others, in research on the evolution of galaxies, evolution of the large-scale structure of the Universe and applications of machine learning techniques for the analysis of astronomical data. We expect the candidate to develop subjects related to the analysis of microwave background radiation maps and their correlation with catalogues of extraagalactic objects, and ultimately to build a group dealing with these subjects within the structures of the Department.
The candidate is expected:
- to have a significant scientific expertize in the field of astrophysics, evidenced by publications, in particular on one of the topics developed in the BP4 Division; expertize related to microwave background radiation research is particularly welcome;
- experience in working in international teams, teamwork skills;
- good spoken and written English, knowledge of other languages is desirable;
- experience in managing research projects, leading scientific teams is welcome;
