Power system analyst

Profile of NCBJ, one of the largest research institutes in Poland where the sole in Poland nuclear research reactor is operated, includes fundamental research in nuclear physics & related sciences, research on nuclear reactors & fuel, research on safety of nuclear facilities etc. Currently NCBJ is recruiting college graduates in power systems for a job of power system analyst in its Interdisciplinary Division for Energy Analyses. Job location: Warsaw.

Responsibilities

•    to model transmission grids of selected power systems with technical parameters of system elements properly taken into account
•    to work out stochastic predictions for growth of transmission grid network
•    to optimize the models using advanced optimization techniques
•    to analyse simulation outcomes
•    to design a method to visualise simulation outcomes
•    to report results and to document the developed software code.

Requirements

•    college graduate in power systems
•    knowledge of power system stability / control issues, familiarity with power flow analyses (Matpower)
•    good command of English (reports/working meetings language)
•    analytic thinking skills
•    knowledge of advanced optimization methods
•    experience in developing probabilistic models
•    advanced skills in computer programming (at least Matlab and python).
