NCBJ opens a competition to fill up a vacancy at a position of Assistant Professor in NCBJ Department of Fundamental Research (DBP) located in Warsaw. The successful candidate must meet requirements specified in par. 43 of Act on Research Institutes passed on April 30, 2010 (Dz.U.  96 pos. 618).

Requirements:

  • PhD in physics, specialty: experimental high energy physics
  • interest in experimental work at CERN Large Hadron Collider
  • knowledge of/skills in:
    • methods of analysis of the acquired experimental data
    • computer simulations of interactions of elementary particles with detectors and phenomena taking place in data acquisition circuitry
    • advanced statistical/numerical methods
    • Standard Model (verification of hypotheses concerning extensions of the Model)
    • topics of contemporary physics.
  • documented scientific output (publications in peer-reviewed international journals, presentations at scientific conferences)
  • experience in running R&D projects including international collaborations
  • readiness to initiate new projects (also as Project Leader)
  • communication / knowledge transfer skills
  • good command of English.
