The 8th Young Researchers BNCT Meeting in Pavia

The 8th Young Researchers BNCT Meeting took place on 13-17th of September 2015 at University of Pavia, Pavia, Italy. The meeting was an opportunity for young scientists and students to exchange ideas, present their results and get acquainted with the studies, that are currently being carried out in institutes around the world.  The meeting was also an opportunity to make contacts with members of the scientific community, which is centered around the researches on the Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT).

During the plenary sessions about 60 presentations were introduced. Two of them were presented by dr engineer Monika Wielgosz and dr Katarzyna Tymińska. The presentations were about a research stand, which is being developed by the MARIA Reactor at the National Center for Nuclear Research. The session topics were, i.a.: “Accelerators and other sources of neutrons”,”Dosimetry”, “Therapeutic planning” and “Clinical issues”.

There also were the poster sessions, during which more than 30 posters were presented.
